Hi I'm Stephanie

I have lived in California most of my life. I am the mother of four beautiful daughters, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading, eating good food, and traveling, but I spend most of my time taking care of my kids, and I love it! As I enter a new phase of my life as a single mom, I am learning to balance parenthood with the demands of going back to school for a second degree. I enjoy being busy as long as there is a purpose behind the business.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into a home where I learned the gospel of Jesus Christ from a very young age. My parents modeled gospel living for me and my four siblings. They taught us by their example to be patient and kind, and most of all to love the Lord Jesus Christ and rely on Him when things are tough. They handled every challenge that came their way with faith and grace. They also taught me to love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I watched how the church helped them to live their religion and guided them in creating a Christ-centered home. Their example of living what they believed is what motivated me to figure out what I personally believed. I wanted to know for myself if what they had taught me all of my life was really true. My personal quest for truth led me to the scriptures. As I read the Book of Mormon, I felt a change in my heart. I remember recognizing that I wanted the goodness that I was finding in the scriptures in my life more than I wanted anything else. And I learned that when I really tried to implement the things I had been learning at church and in my own study of the scriptures, I could feel closer to the Savior. That closeness brought an increase of love and peace in my life that I knew and still know I never want to live without. I'm a Mormon because I love my Savior, and the church helps me feel close to Him.

How I live my faith

I am trying to live my faith by implementing the lessons I have learned from the prophets, both the prophets who lived long ago whose words I find in the scriptures, and those who are living and leading the church today. They all teach of Christ and the happiness and joy that comes from following Him. I want to follow Him by serving others as He did. The Savior was never too busy to notice those around Him who needed help. I love volunteer work both within the church and in my community. I am especially passionate about working with kids and teenagers. I have had many opportunities to volunteer with them in various capacities over the years, and those opportunities have brought an added richness to my life. For the past several years I have worked with a large group of other moms in my area who want to help their kids understand that God knows them and loves them. Together we have created a summer camp that teaches kids through activities and music that happiness comes from making good choices. We try to introduce them to all the amazing heroes in the scriptures that they can model their lives after. I feel great when I am helping others experience the joy I have found in living the gospel of Jesus Christ.
