Hi I'm Colten

I'm an aspiring entrepreneur, I'm happily married, I have a cat named puppy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very passionate person and when I put my mind to something, there's no stopping me. I Graduated high school in 2009 and then was able to get my associates degree in a year. I served a full time LDS mission in Louisville Kentucky and absolutely loved it. Then after coming home to Utah, I met my wife. I was set up on a blind date by my first girlfriend and knew from our first date that I was going to marry her; it has been the best decision I've made. Since I returned home from my mission, life has been a whirlwind and time has flown. It has official been over a year and since I've been home, I've been blessed with a great job, an amazing wife, and my brother and I have been able to open a mobile restaurant called Jolley Brother's Scone Burgers. It is hands down the most delicious burger ever to exist :) If I have learned anything since I have been home, it is that When we keep God at the center of our lives and do what He asks, He will always provide for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church but I still had to decide for myself if it was right for me. Growing up when my family lived the teachings of the gospel as close as they could, we had more happiness and more joy than at any other time in our lives. After going to college and learning that God really does have a role in our lives, I decided through my experiences, and influences from my close friends and brother, that I wanted to serve a mission. My testimony was challenged many times on my mission and I am eternally grateful for my time that I was able to serve as a full time missionary and represent the Lord. Because I had to defend my beliefs each day I was able to gain a strong unshakable knowledge that this is the Lords true church restored to the earth. I am still a "Mormon" because I know from God that this is His true church.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to teach sunday school to 14-15 year olds helping them strengthen their faith in the Savior. I had the opportunity to spend 2 years (and 2 weeks) in Kentucky teaching others and learning about the Savior. Since returning home from Kentucky, I do my best each day to pray and read the scriptures, I attend the temple once a month, and do all that I can to honor my covenants that I have made with my wife and with God. I try to be an example to all those around me, and be a positive and happy presence wherever I am.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

We believe and know that families can live together forever. The family is the central unit of the Church and there is no more important work that goes on in the world than that in our own homes. The great blessing of families has been huge in my life because as my family moves on from this life, I know that we can live together in the next life. I know that God has given me my family so that I have people around me that I can turn to for help and support. When a family is founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it can make our families stronger than anything else. Show more Show less
