Hi I'm Bill

I love my wife, four daughters, three sons-in-law and three grandchilren. I am a corporate tax accountant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked as the Tax Director for publicly-held corporations. The companies I have worked for have been in the business of computer software development, restaurants and hotels. I enjoy collaborating with others to structure the company's domestic and international operations to be tax efficient. My wife and I have been married for 33 years. My greatest treasure is my family. I love being with my daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. When my wife and I were newly-married, I enjoyed teaching guitar. I am influenced by many types of music, including jazz, blues, classical and Broadway musicals.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager, I began to look for more truth about God and my purpose on earth. One day, when I was practicing my guitar alone in a large, open field at a city park, a musician walked up to me. She later spoke to me about some principles of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her friend gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I found that the teachings of Jesus Christ and the prophets found in the Book of Mormon provided me with a comprehensive understanding of God and my relationship to Him. I asked God in prayer if the Book of Mormon was written by His true prophets. The Holy Ghost witnessed to me that the Book of Mormon is true and that Jesus is the Christ, my Savior. I wanted to have the gift of the Holy Ghost as a constant companion in my life. I asked the missionaries if I could be baptized. Over time, I realized that the Book of Mormon as well as the teachings of living prophets provided me with the best principles to live by - principles that bring joy in my everyday living.

How I live my faith

I have recognized blessings as I have taught gospel classes at church. I have seen in these classes a "light go on" in the minds of teenagers when they made certain connections. At those times, they saw that living gospel principles leads to making decisions that bring happiness and joy to them and to others. I have seen this most powerfully in the lives of my own children. When they have encountered obstacles to achieving a happy and fulfilling life, I saw them sometimes go to Heavenly Father in prayer with questions and receive answers. The Holy Ghost gave them promptings of what to do. When they followed those directions from God, I saw it bring them happiness and joy. We discussed this process of receiving personal direction from Heavenly Father during our weekly family home evenings - a time each week to study the application of the gospel in our lives and enjoy each other's company. There were times during these family home evenings that we strongly felt the influence of the Spirit, and we testified to each other of that loving influence.
