Hi I'm Tyler

I'm a singer, a frisbee-er, and I've beaten the Elite Four over 100 times. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Tyler. I'm a 19 year old college student from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I lived in Canada for the first 8 years of my life, then moved to a small town in Iowa for my dad's job. It was here that I was blessed to discover I had many talents for music, and I now love to sing, play piano, and play trumpet. There were a lot of opportunities extended to me in Iowa, ESPECIALLY in music, that would have never become a part of my life had we not moved. While music is huge for me, I decided not to pursue a career in music, and instead I am studying Chemistry-Pre Pharmacy at BYU-Idaho. Currently, I am serving my Heavenly Father by serving a full-time mission in Ogden, Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

While I grew up in the church, I never really knew a lot of things for myself. I was a classic "lean-on-my-parents'-testimony" Mormon. People had always said that the Book of Mormon was true and that they knew Jesus Christ lived, and I took their word for it. My dad has been both my Branch President and my Young Men's President and I've had my mom as both a Sunday School and Seminary Teacher. For me, there was initially no distinction between what my parents taught me at home and what I learned at church. It was one and the same. It wasn't until I went off to college that I started to catch the vision. I went to school and was very blessed to be surrounded by so many good influences. I lived with 5 guys and went to class with hundreds more that were all members of the church - and it was there that I witnessed the change first. I saw all of them preparing to go on missions, which was something I knew was good but never felt was within my future. To see the transformation from an average college guy turning into a missionary; a real servant of the Lord, was amazing to me. And it was then I knew I needed to find out for myself. Through scripture study and prayer, I too gained a testimony of the church and decided that I needed to serve a mission.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving a full-time mission in Ogden Utah, and I will be until November 2013!
