Hi I'm Jon Green

I am serving a mission in Denver Colorado, I am Canadian, I love life on this earth, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well I am the baby boy, i have two older sisters, and my Dad passed away when I was 10. My Mom is awesome. I love to rock climb and hike, play soccer, run, garden, have picnics, ride my bike, play in the snow, and pretty much anything that is outside. I also love music, I play the guitar, try to sing, and I play the drums. Reading is also great. I worked in kitchens for about 5 years, but realized that I love cooking too much to do it for a living. I still love to cook for family and friends though. When I was 16 I dropped out of school, but eventually I got my butt in gear and went back and graduated two years late. Better late than never I figure.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I was born in the Church, but I had to figure out for my self that its true. When I was 15 I stopped going to church. It took about 6 years and alot of bad decisions, but I did figure out that the Church is true. From the first time that I felt the spirit tell me to get my life back on tract till I finally did was about 3 years. What finally made the difference was that i simply started reading the Book of Mormon and praying every day. As I did this I was able to have to strength I needed to make real changes in my life, and really learn for my self that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Jesus is the Christ, my savior and redeemer, and that it is through the power of the Atonement that I have been able to be forgiven of my sins. I know that God is my loving Heavenly Father, and he wants me to return to live with him. I know that this is Christs church, that he leads this Church through His prophet Thomas Monson. I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet call to restore the Gospel in these days. I am so greatful for the knowledge I have of the Plan of Salvation, because I know that I can see my Dad again, and be with my family forever. I am so greatful to be serving a mission and to be able to share this amazing message with the people of the North Denver Mission.

How I live my faith

Well I am serving a full time mission for the next two years. Before I left to serve a mission I was teaching a primary class, of children that were 8 turning 9. They were a hand full, but I loved being able to learn with them. As part of living what I belive I just try to be a nice person, and try to help people where ever I can.
