Hi I'm Karla

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a patient man that encourages and supports me in everything I do. The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful, talented daughter that continues to be a joy in our life. Because of her positive influence, we want to be better people. I love spending time outdoors, particularly in the mountains. I like to bike, hike, golf and boat in the summer and snowshoe, snowmobile and ski in the winter. Even though I am the “chicken” of the family, I love trying new adventures. Anytime spent with my family is considered a great day. Learning has become a lifetime pursuit. Now that I am an empty nester, I am going back to college to finish my degree and I also want to learn to play the violin.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born and raised in the church, I had to decide for myself if this is the right church for me. After questioning and searching for my own answers, I know it is. I would never trade the knowledge and blessing of revelation – both from a modern day prophet and personal. Thomas S. Monson is our current prophet today. He is an inspired man. When I follow his counsel, my life runs smoother with less bumps in the road. As a member of the church, I received a gift – the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost testifies of Jesus Christ and of His truths. He protects me physically and spiritually, guides me in my decisions, and provides peace and comfort. I know that when I follow his promptings, small miracles can occur each and every day – to me and to those around me.

How I live my faith

We all want to find happiness in this life. For me, that inner peace and joy can come from our daily routines. I have a formula I try to follow every morning – STEP toward others: Scriptures, Thanks, Exercise, Pray and then go do a good deed. I find great strength and direction when I study my scriptures. I’m reminded of the Lord’s hand in my life when I recall at least 5 different things everyday that I’m grateful for. I can enjoy life and serve others better when I take care of myself physically. Prayer keeps me connected to a Heavenly Father who loves me, knows me better than anyone else and can help me with my needs. And since he knows the needs of others, who better to ask on who and how I can help that day. This takes up such a small portion of my day but yet has the biggest impact.
