Hi I'm Russ

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of six. I love to play sports with my kids. Basketball is my favorite sport. I enjoy all outdoor activities especially camping and going to the beach. My profession is construction management.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that our Heavenly Father loves us, his children greatly and has prepared a way for his children to return to live with Him. I know the way to return to live with our Heavenly Father is through His son Jesus Christ. I believe that because Christ had a perfect love for us that he set a perfect example, he atoned for our sins, and he was resurrected. I believe as I live my life in accordance with the principles and ordinances that Jesus Christ taught during His ministry, that I can find peace and joy in this life, and prepare myself to return to His presence. The greatest blessing of being a Mormon is knowing that I can be with my wife and family not only during this short time on earth but be sealed to them for eternity, if we are obedient to the commandments. For these blessing to come to pass is why Christ established His church with the power to teach and seal these blessings. Through scripture study and prayer the Holy Ghost has testified to me and I have gained the knowledge that the original church that Christ established while on the earth was lost but has been restored in these days. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is His church in this time. With the restoration of His church many great blessing have been realized. The Book of Mormon, prophesy, and the power to act in God's name are a few of these blessings. These are the reasons why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith in three ways: First. My personal life and having a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I try to live my life worthy so that my Heavenly Father will be happy with the decisions that I make. As I strive to live my life in this manner He blesses me with peace and joy. As I stumble and make mistakes, I must repent to continue to receive His blessings. I believe that I must continuously look to purify and improve myself in all aspects of my life. Second. My family. The first part of this is understanding that my wife and I are eternal companions and that I must treat her always with the love and respect she deserves. As we do this we are able to create a loving home to nurture and teach our children. As I serve my family I continue to gain understanding of how they are the greatest blessing that I have been given. Third. My Community. This includes my church, work, and neighborhood. In church I have had the pleasure the last couple of years to serve as a Scout Master and help boys prepare mentally, physically, and spiritually to become productive men in society. In work I try to serve the management, employees, and customers in a way that I can show respect and love for all those that I come in contact with. Finally I try to be nice to all those I come in contact with and serve those that need my help. As I strive to live my faith in these three ways, I feel myself grow and become a better person.
