Hi I'm Ann

I am a mother, a grandmother, a registered nurse and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the oldest of six children, with lots of different animals (because my father loved animals and my mother was very tolerant!). My dream growing up was to become a nurse. I was not good at math, so I changed my major in college and graduated in something else. After I had my first three children and didn't seem to be able to have more, I went back to school (while the children were in school) and completed my RN degree. The week I graduated, I found out I was expecting our fourth child (an answer to many prayers!). I was able to find a job working weekends at the local hospital so my husband could watch the children. My dream finally came true! I have enjoyed helping many different people over the years - a great experience! I enjoy being a mother and a grandmother! Each of my five children (I had a second miracle and was able to have a fifth child!) and my almost 18 grandchildren are very precious to me. I love to write to them and talk to them on the phone. What a joy they are in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was baptized at age eight. I have always had the gift of faith and have not ever been troubled by doubts about the truthfulness of the gospel or the Mormon church. Any questions I have been asked about doctrinal issues in the LDS church have either had an answer in the scriptures or I have faith that there is an answer we will receive after this life, which will make perfect sense when we have an "eternal perspective". I know that Jesus Christ is our living Savior and is the Son of God. I know His church is led by a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is the true path of happiness in this life and the life hereafter.

How I live my faith

I am doing volunteer service for eighteen months away from home. While at home, I served in my area as a teacher of youth and enjoyed singing with our church choir. I enjoyed serving as a visiting teacher and as a home teacher with my husband. I enjoy giving service to others and look for small ways to make a difference in people's lives - even a friendly word or smile can make someone feel better!
