Hi I'm Merianne

I love my family and I'm a life-long Mormon.

About Me

I'm a new grandmother of one adorable grandson and a mother of four great children and wife of a loving husband. Two of my children are married to wonderful people, one is on a 2 year mission for our church, and one is graduating high school soon and will be going to college for a year and then serve his own 2 year mission. I love to go to the beach, bake, sew and do crafts, and go on trips - especially when they include visiting family who all live pretty far away!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and I really can't remember a time when I didn't know the church was true. However, I have had times when my testimony has been challenged or weakened. At those times I have experienced the kind of conversion process I believe others have when they learn about the gospel for the first time. I'm a Mormon because I believe Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ who directed him to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth again - the same way it was organized when Jesus walked the earth. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and as I read it, I feel the Holy Ghost testify to me of it's truthfulness. I know we have a living prohet on the earth today and that as we listen to and follow is counsel, it is as if we are following directions given from Jesus Christ himself. My greatest desire is to be with my family for eternity and I know this is possible if I listen to the prohet, keep the commandments, and do all I can to emulate the Savior in my life.

How I live my faith

I am not perfect by any means and there are many who do more good than I do in the world. However, I try to do the best I can each day and contribute in some way to those around me. I love helping the young women at our church. We help them plan and execute activities that will strengthen them and develop them into women who can stand strong against the challenges we all face as we go through life. I look for opportunities to give service and to do nice things in small ways that will uplift those around me. I think we often feel that we have to do big things to have an impact, but it's really the small and quiet things that make a difference in people's lives.
