Hi I'm Spencer

I'm an artist, a visionary, a helper, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old. I speak Spanish because I served the people of Argentina for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. I enjoy music, painting, mountain biking, running, swimming, long-boarding. I enjoy these activities because they encourage me to reflect on life. I am aware of the world and enjoy learning to understand myself, people, life, and God better. I feel that my relationship with each of these is important to my growth and happiness. I learn most by doing. I love service. Helping others makes everybody's life better and helps us to learn and grow together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the truth. Through prayer, reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible, and going to the services of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I received an assurance that Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer, that God the Father loves us and has a plan for us. He sent is Son to establish the way to return to live with Him with our families forever after this life. What matters to us, matters to Him. By His word, and the words of His chosen prophets and apostles as recorded in the scriptures and in this present day my faith has increased. I know for myself that Christ lives and calls prophets to represent and witness of Him in these present times to make know the word of God to all who listen. They teach how all who seek peace and the all the promised blessings of God may have them through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I look for ways that I can help other people. I have volunteered to do English conversation tutoring and also enjoyed just being friends with international students from Switzerland, Germany, South Korea, and South America. There are always ways to help and people to lift. Sometimes I may even need help. But helping other and being willing to receive others help with gratitude when appropriate has given me a deeper understanding of why we are all here in this life together. It all begins with following through with those little thoughts that encourage doing something good.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

I can't say what this is like for every Mormon. But for me, in my life, this means doing all I can to live my life as the Savior hopes I would; and where I fall short, I learn from my mistakes and rely on Christ and His grace to help me improve. There are a lot of responsibilities associated with being Mormon. This is because when you are baptized, you take upon you the name of Christ and accept the path of discipleship. This is no small undertaking, but with Christ, the difficult things become easy and there is always hope and faith to move forward. Show more Show less
