Hi I'm Mandy

I am a daughter, sister, mother, wife, and teacher. I enjoy seeing children learn and grow, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a working mom. Juggling home, family, and a job is hard to do, but I'm getting better at it. I received my bachelor's degree in 1998 and went back to school in 2002 to earn a Masters degree. I graduated in December 2004 with a Masters in Information and Learning Technologies. I met my sweetheart, and we were married in 2005. We have just recently been blessed with two young children in our home and are enjoying every minute we are sharing with them. In my spare time I love to cross-stitch, play with the kiddos, watch chic flicks, and share my weekly date night with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ, live and that they have a plan for me here on this Earth. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to be part of His church. I know He leads and guides the church and helps me find answers in my own life. I am so blessed to have His example to follow and His atonement for my shortcomings. How grateful I am to be able to repent when I sin and know I am forgiven. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was restored through a simple and humble boy, Joseph Smith. He read, studied, pondered, and prayed and he, like each of us, received an answer to his search. I don't think he could have predicted the magnitude of his question or answer as he asked, but his desire to follow God has blessed so many lives. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon and Bible are the word of God. I cannot even begin to count the answers to prayers I have received as I have read the words of prophets of old. These books teach of Jesus Christ and bring me closer to Him through knowledge of His commandments, His atonement, His peace, and His grace. I have learned that after all I can do, He will make up the rest. I have learned that I am never alone. He will always be there to comfort me and carry me and help me press forward when I feel I just can't take another step. I am a Mormon because it is true. I know that not because someone is watching, or because someone told me I had to, or even because I was born a Mormon. I know because I asked. I prayed and I asked and I received my own witness from my Father in Heaven. I am so grateful to be member of His church on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day. Of course there are times when I fall short, as I am far from perfect. I recently had the opportunity to work with the youth in our ward. What a blessing it was to see the young women testify of their Savior. I loved seeing them learn and grow. I am currently a visiting teaching supervisor. That means I get to help make sure all the sisters in our ward are getting visited and being taken care of. It is a priviledge to work with the women in our ward. At school (where I teach), I try to live my faith by being an example of the things I believe. I try to see others as sons and daughters of God and try to reach out to help and serve where I can. My parents taught me the importance of service growing up and it is a part of who I am. I live my faith by focusing on family. My family is the most important thing in my life. I work hard each day to be a better wife and mother and continue to enrich my relationships with my sisters and parents. I live my faith by sharing the happiness I have in my life with others. I hope those I know recognize my love for them and know that love comes from my love for Jesus Christ.
