Hi I'm Josh

Yep, I live in Arizona, I pretty much live for outdoor recreation. I love running, mountain biking, swimming, you name it!

About Me

I have lived in Arizona my whole life and was born into the church. I started trying cross country in junior high school because I wasnt good enough to play on the sport teams that had tryouts. I was bullied and picked on a lot in Junior high, which made me stick to running more because I could do it by myself without anyone else making fun of me. As I started running more and more, I was becoming faster and faster, which didnt start to show until my sophomore year of High School. As I lived my life to the church standards, I was able to keep away from drugs and alcohol that other kids at my school were getting caught with. Which helped me stay healthy and fit for my sport. I believe that through my righteous living, I was able to train better and have a more positive demeanor. Which helped me achieve a 3rd place finish in the 4x800 meter relay. Which contributed to a state championship title for my team! I also like to do things like play the ukulele, longboard parking garages and mountains, and ride my motorcycle around town. I am currenty a full time student at Mesa Community College, and I work part-time trying to save money for my goal to be a full time missionary of the church once I turn 19.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, however, people may think that when you are born into this church you have to come. I dont go to church because I "have" too, I go because I want too. After feeling the amazing comfort and peace of the Holy Ghost. I dont ever want to do anything that would make me lose that feeling. Of course, I'm not perfect, and some times I'm not very humble, but in those times I know my Heavenly Father is still watching over me, and is there for me when I am having a hard time getting through the days. The Book of Mormon is an incredible book of ancient prophets who testified of the coming of Christ in the America's. When you read the entire book, and pray with a true intent to Heavenly Father to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is true for yourself. I promise that it will become known to you for yourself. I can feel my Heavenly Fathers love for me, and I can testify that there is no other feeling that compares.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving two callings, one calling is with the youth in our area, I am over the 11 year old kids, and my second calling is as a Assistant Webelo's scout leader. It may be inconvenient to prepare lessons sometimes but I know that Heavenly Father blesses me for it. I don't work on Sunday's in respect to the Sabbath. If you ask me, thats a pretty sweet time to sleep anyways. I am very busy all week and am usually feeling burnt out but a Sunday to recover from the trials of the week is the greatest blessing to have. I dont do drugs or drink alcohol, it is a standard in this church, but also, those things damage your body. I live a healthy and happy life as a positive consequence to avoiding those things. I try to surround myself with good people, because friends have a big impact on the choices you make, especially for me. I've learned that I can succomb more easily to peer pressure than I'd like to admit. I try my very hardest to read the Book of Mormon every night, and I always feel good after reading its contents. I've recognized that by living the standards of the church, I've been happy, and I wouldn't want to change that for anything!
