Hi I'm Chris

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three of the coolest little girls I've ever met. My wife is the greatest and my inspiration for life. I love music. I love to play music and I love to listen to music. I enjoy golf, baseball, softball, racquetball, and tennis. I am a convert to the church, but have always been Christian. My faith in Jesus Christ has never waivered, though I enjoy learning about other religions in the world, which has in turn, strengthened my faith in Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a firm believer in Jesus Christ. I am a very inquisitive person, and have always been dissatisfied with answers from leaders of churches such as: "we're not supposed to know that right now". My response was always "Why not?" I believed that if we wanted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, and had prepared ourselves to receive the answer, that God would most certainly want us to grow in spiritual knowledge. I reluctantly began to study the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with some friends, and a set of missionaries. I had studied tons of religions and Christian denominations and never put much thought into studying sects that I had been taught were "cults". So I was very skeptical before I even started. But I knew the friends that I knew did not live up to the bad things that I had been told, so I wanted to know what their church really believed. . . from them. After all, you don't ask a Ford Dealer about a Honda, right? So I was very surprised when I kept bringing anti-mormon material to the missionaries, that they were able to explain away the negative and show me logically what their doctrine was, step by step. I was finally getting answers to questions that I had harbored for years, and learning about things I hadn't even questioned yet. Very little seemed to contradict my understanding of the Bible, and if anything did, they were able to easily show me what those particular scriptures meant. My scriptures came alive. The scriptures that were unclear to me before made much more sense. From A to Z, all the wheels and cogs fit in to place and made logical sense. I was loving it. My only hang up that took me months to figure out, was how to feel the Holy Ghost. I had always been taught to pray, but not really the right way. I always prayed when I needed help, but generically, expecting that God would just work it out somehow. I never knew that you could actually receive an answer to a prayer

How I live my faith

I am an active member of our little branch. I have served in callings with the youth several times and am now the Mission Leader, which means I help the full-time missionaries with their efforts and coordinate them with the members of our congregation. I really enjoy talking to people about our church, and religion in general. It is my favorite topic, and really the focus of any book I may read. I enjoy helping others and educating them on what our church is really about. Since my views of this church were very wrong growing up, I like to help others in that same situation see the church for what it truly is, Christ's original gospel.
