Hi I'm Julianne

I'm a Mormon. I am 22 years old and will be finishing school at BYUI. When I grow up I want to be a fun loving old Grandma!

About Me

I grew up being the middle child, having two older brothers and two younger sisters. I always wanted to do what my brothers were doing whether it was climbing trees or playing sports with them. After being told I was never going to be as good as “the boys”, or as fast as them over and over again, I never gave up. From this I have learned great life lessons that help shape who I am today. I went through my younger years playing soccer and basketball then in high school I stuck with tennis and basketball. After going back and forth whether or not to play sports in college I decided to go ahead and further my talents that Heavenly Father has given me. I decided to attend Pacific University in Oregon to do so. I went there to major in Exercise Science, and to play basketball. That is exactly what I did until l also decided to be a resident assistant in the dorms on campus. Wow I really learned how to manage my time but it was a fun adventure. I then wanted to take a break from school and I was directed to a job in Georgia where I am currently a nanny. I have been a nanny for almost a year now and have decided to go back to school. I will soon be attending BYU Idaho where I will join my two brothers and sister who attend there.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church so in my early years I feel I lived off of my parents testimony, I went to church because they did, or I went just to see my friends. I was baptized when I was 8 years old by my father and continued to follow the commandments, each Sunday as I attended church my testimony grew strong and stronger and I was then living on my own testimony. I am a Mormon because I have prayed to my Heavenly Father wanting to know if this was the true church. He has made it known to me that this is the true church. He has lead and guided me to places I could not go alone; he has blessed my life and my families. I have seen miracles happen right before my eyes and it is through our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that this is made possible. I know if we follow his path he has laid out for us we will be lead back to him, to live eternally with our families. I know that Joseph Smith was called of god to restore the true church back on earth. I know that the words that are in the Book of Mormon to be true words and if we follow and learn from what we read we will be blessed. I know that Heavenly Father sacrificed his son for the world, and that Christ suffered for us so it was made possible that we can be forgiven of our sins and be washed clean. I know that we have a modern day prophet on this earth, Thomas S. Monson and the words that he speaks are true. I know that as we follow the commands, and rebel against the evils of the world and hold to the iron rod we will be led to him. I am a Mormon and I love my Heavenly Father with all my heart as he has given me all that I have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the council, and inspiration that I receive. I am currently the second councilor in the Young Women’s. Young Women’s is a class with girls from ages 12-18. . To fulfill my calling I have to stay tuned to the spirit and be lead as I teach lessons or help in any other areas such as planning activities. I also choose to do my visiting teaching, I know that as we do as we are asked we will touch others lives, the lord knows who is struggling and we are his instruments to help one another. We bring joy to each other’s lives as we do so. The time that is takes to fulfill my callings is only a small fraction compared to all that the lord has given to me. Whenever I am asked to bring something to a branch event, I step up and offer all that I can to help out and bring what is needed. Whenever and wherever there is a chance to serve in the church or the community I do so, when we are in the service of our fellow beings we are only in the service of our lord.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The prophet today for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is President Thomas S. Monson. He was called of god to lead his church on earth today. He is a prophet, seer, and revelator, receiving direct revelation from our Heavenly Father and then giving counsel to those who heed his words. He has two councilors’ Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F Uctdorf. Together they make up the First Presidency of the church. Show more Show less
