Hi I'm Brian

I am a business owner, investor, Scouter, handyman, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married with five kids, I own a construction company that specializes in stadium bleachers/grandstands, I am a founding partner of a captive solution insurance company, I have a passion for Scouting, I am continually seeking to better my situation, I want what is best for my family, I ride a Harley, I am driven to pay my mortgage off within the next few years so I may be completely out of debt, I love jackets, I enjoy camping and spending time outdoors, I find joy in giving service, I am a handyman, I dislike paying retail prices, I always try to find a better way to do things, I love creating activities for little to no money, and I love Chinese food, pizza, and chips and salsa from Mexican restaurants.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that it is the same church that Christ organized when he was on the earth and it is the only church where the priesthood, the authority to act in God's name, may be received. My parents are converts to the Church and they paved the way for me and my own family today. They still are faithful members of the church and serve as examples to all who know them of what it means to follow Christ. Despite being raised in the Church, I had to discover for my self whether the things I was being taught were true or not. Through much study, prayer, and with the guidance of the Spirit I have come to know for myself that they ARE true. I know we have a living prophet today who leads and guides this Church under Jesus Christ's direction, that we have temples today which are the house of the Lord where we can receive sacred ordinances, that through prayer we can speak to our Father in Heaven, in Christ's name, and receive inspiration from the Father through the Holy Ghost. I also know that God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are each their own individual, yet one in purpose. The Bible, The Book of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price, and The Doctrine and Covenants are all holy scripture provided for our use to come closer to our Savior.

How I live my faith

“Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. … Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only” (James 2:17, 24). I try to live my faith by attempting to put into action what I know to be true on a daily basis. Being an imperfect being attempting to be perfect, some of the ways that I attempt to live my faith are by bettering myself, my family, and those around me. I seek to have daily personal scripture study and prayer, as well as conduct family scripture reading and prayer. I try to live a healthy lifestyle, including abstaining from alcohol and tobacco. Regarding helping those around me, I dedicate much of my time to serving in the Boy Scouting program. I have served or am serving in such positions as Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Venturing Crew Adviser, Eagle Mentor, Unit Commissioner and LDS/BSA Relations Committee Member. I also currently serve in my church unit as one of the men's ecclesiastical leader, which is known in the Church as Elders Quorum President. Much of what this position consist of is assisting the bishop in administering and ministering to the members of our congregation. It also consist of overseeing the home teaching program for our unit. Home teaching is the name given to the physical and spiritual care provided by local priesthood holders to each member of the congregation. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we believe that all the saving ordinances necessary to live in God's presence can be performed vicariously for the dead in sacred temples. I serve several times a month in the temple as a patron, volunteer, and ordinance worker.
