Hi I'm Kelcie

I am the oldest girl of 8 kids. I am a college student, I work, I study, I love to dance, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors! I love camping and fishing. I enjoy getting away from the world and technology and spending time with my family and learning more about them. I love to snowboard, even though I am not good at it, I really enjoy it! I love to play in water at the lake or creek. I am a full time college student. Being the second oldest in my family, I have six younger siblings. There is never a boring moment in my house. My family is crazy but I love them to death! I am a aunt of one niece. I really enjoy singing. I was involved with many choirs during high school. I have a passion for dance. I have been taking tap and ballet sense I was three years old. Getting older, I have taken Ballroom, Hip Hop, Jazz, Pointe Ballet, Modern, Tap, Clogging, and I absolutely love it. It is my escape from the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. Like many others, there have been times in my life where I have done wrong and really struggled. But it was the times where I hung on the gospel and kept up with my scripture study and I prayed morning and night that I was able to get through it. I come back to the gospel because it brings me comfort. I can't imagine moving out for the first time, making big life decisions, and living on my own without the Lord there to lead me. This gospel gives me something and someone to lean on and ask for help. There is always something there for me. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me happiness.

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve in many parts of the church and I have really enjoyed it. I always learn new things and it brings me closer to others and God. While attending school last semester, I was called to be the temple representative. This has been one of my favorite callings. I was called to attend the temple once or twice week and bring others with me and to be an example to others by showing them how important the temple is. I never knew who would show up. Others didn't always come with me but I always went because that was what the Lord had asked of me, to be an example of a believer of the temple and its great blessings. It brought me closer to the Savior and brought so much peace into my crazy busy week. I think the most important thing for me as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ is to help others feel welcome and comfortable as I do. I try to be an example and be as Christ would want me to be. I try to show God's love for all of his children at all times, in all situations. Everyone is special and meaningful in God's eyes. We are equal and He loves us all the same.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Kelcie
Our spirit and our bodies are two different things. When we damage our bodies with drugs, tattoos, or using it wrongly, we are also damaging our spirit. Our bodies have been loaned to us from God so we could have the opportunity to live here on earth and have this experience and be tested. We are blessed to have a body. We are supposed to treat our bodies with care because when we die our spirit is all that is left. And if we do not take care of our bodies, it will affect our spirit. We call Temples, The House of God or the Temple of God. Our bodies are God's. We are supposed to treat them as we do the temple. Our bodies are precious and sacred just as the Temples are.
