Hi I'm Erin

I'm a Mormon. And I love it.

About Me

I am attending college right now. I am studying to be a nurse. I love to run, especially outside with perfect weather. I love meeting new people. I love learning about people's stories and cultures and how they got to the place they are in their lives. I attended a college in Hawaii for two years before here and I met some remarkable people. I love to travel. I have been to Korea and Japan-- and I want to go back! I love gaining new perspective in life from traveling and hiking. I love to hike and backpack. Some of my most peaceful moments have been on top of mountains and in nature's beauty. I have a little brother who was born with disabilities. Some challenging but sweet times. I have learned so much from him.

Why I am a Mormon

I would say I fall under the typical 'mormon' category. I was born into the church as both of my parents were members. However, my father was not always a member; he converted when he was 11 years old. Growing up with the church had it's challenges. I feel like I took my membership in the church for granted because I did not know what I had. After going through some extremely difficult times in Hawaii, I came deeply converted to Christ. I had felt empty, lost, and without any hope in my life. But the love of God carried me through. This time in my life is when I realized for the first time why I was a Mormon. I realized the great blessings I had as a member of the church. When the comfort and peace were gone from my life, that is when I realized the great blessings that I once had and taken for granted. I am a Mormon because I want to live my life in a way which will bless other lives and help others feel the love of God in their life too. I have come to find that happiness comes from the way I choose to lead my life. I choose to be a Mormon so I can follow Christ fully and help share His goodness.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by serving those around me. I participate each week in 'adaptive aquatics' by swimming with children with disabilities. I also visit sisters in my ward each month to share a gospel message and help them with anything they might need. I currently serve as the president in our woman's organization in my ward. I am grateful for the opportunities that the church gives to serve those around me.
