Hi I'm Brooklyn Dowd

I am a sister, a daughter and a friend. I served for 18 wonderful months in the Finland Helsinki Mission. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have seven older brothers and two little sisters; all keep me on my toes and hold my hand in their own way. I'm the black sheep in my family, pursuing theater and writing in lieu of medical training or sports. I stand out because of my loud voice, my easily expressed opinion and my smile that is constantly shinning. Though a smile is simply seen, those seeing it do not know what is behind it so I smile to show others that smiling is possible in this day and time. My friends are great supports and they help me through everything! We lean on each other to keep our standards high and to have a good time doing it! I have recently returned from serving the Lord in the Finland Helsinki Mission for the duration of 18 months and I could not imagine doing anything more satisfying with those months! I am grateful for the time I spent as a Sister Missionary of the Church. I have a great passion for the Gospel and I love to share it wherever I go!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the way I feel when I attend church, seminary and mutual. I have roots in this church that could never be replanted. The love, support and acceptance that I feel at church, in my home and with my member friends is so different than that at my school or with my nonmember friends. My standards are high, making my personal expectations high. Being a Mormon is the greatest blessing I could ever ask for.

How I live my faith

My life is spent in a busy house, hectic school and an open church. I strive to continue strengthening my faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ, which was solidified as I testified of Him daily in Finland. Being open and honest about my beliefs is the best way to show everyone around me that I am proud of my faith!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Brooklyn Dowd
To come to know your Father in Heaven, kneel down and offer a humble prayer. Ask Him to assure you that He loves and knows you. A peaceful or comforted feeling are His ways of confirming such questions. Show more Show less
