Hi I'm Nathan

I'm a basketball player, a snowboarder, and missionary in the Phoenix Arizona Mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sports enthusiast. I grew up playing basketball, football and have picked up other sports along the way like baseball, cross country, track and field, and golf. I also love to be outdoors and I participate in activities such as snowboarding, fishing, camping, and mountain biking. I attended one year college where I was studying business with a minor in biology, but right now I'm serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Arizona Phoenix Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born of goodly parents. Growing up I was blessed with two of the best examples to look up to. I choose to follow the commandments because I have felt the spirit testify to me of the truthfulness of the gospel. I have seen the effects of living righteously both in my life and the life of others, but I have also seen what pain and sorrow that breaking his commandments brings. I know that by living the gospel, I can truly reach my potential and be the person that my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I know that living the gospel is something that I will never regret. I know that through the power of the Priesthood, we can be with our families forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the best that I can and being the best person that I can be. I do my best to keep the commandments and to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I make lots of mistakes but I know that through the suffering of Jesus Christ that I can be forgiven and find peace and joy in my life. Right now I am serving as a full-time missionary for the church and I dedicate all of my time and efforts to teach others about Jesus Christ and the things that they can do to build their relationship with him and their Father in Heaven. I try to be an example to others and maintain a positive outlook on life because I know that everything is going to work out in the end.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Nathan
We believe that to enter into heaven, everyone must be baptized. However, there are many good people that died without a chance to hear about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We know that our Father in Heaven loves all of us and has prepared a way for everyone to have the chance to receive salvation. In the temple we are able to serve our ancestors and be baptized in their behalf. This gives them a chance to accept or decline this ordinance. Show more Show less
