Hi I'm Jason

I'm a college student, a salesman, a perfectionist, an out of place Southerner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a thinker. I love to know the facts and opinions of others before I make a decision. Research and intuition is such a vital part of everything that I do. I like to entertain. I like to be serious, but I also like humor. I enjoy eating at hole-in-the-wall restaurants. I am always up for a cheeseburger. I prefer close/ intimate relationships, versus large groups. I am addicted to facebook. I enjoy writing to inform and to please. I am the oldest of 4 children in my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of my love of research, things have to make sense to me in order for me to but into it. Accordingly, the physical structure of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has always made sense to me. It wasn't until I began to spiritual pursuit of it (reading, praying, participating), that I was able to receive a direct answer from God that what I am doing is right. My understanding of it continues to grow not only from experiences in my life, but from experiences in other people's lives where I see how a knowledge of God's true plan for His children would change their outlook and the decisions that they make.

How I live my faith

A man of another faith once asked me why Mormons try so hard to be good examples in public, when in fact all of us are sinners (everyone in the world that is). He said why should we pretend to be something that we are not. As a Christian, my relationship with the Savior is to not leave Him disappointed. I feel it is a part of my soul, and the fiber of my being to do right, not to impress other people, but because it is who I am. Being good isn't a choice, its an attribute of oneself. I live my faith simply by being who I am.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

One may mistake The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a cult because of the belief that it was started by Joseph Smith, a man. However, we believe that as many of the prophets of old, Joseph Smith was the Lord's hand to organize the Church of Christ in it's pure and original form. If Joseph were merely a man, presenting his beliefs as another religious option that he founded, then it would be a cult. However, if he were directed by divine means, it be the truth.
