Hi I'm Paul

I'm American but love to learn about the rest of the world. I love sports. I love to try new things. I love being a mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm serving as a missionary in the Australia Perth Mission. I've been out for quite a while and I have absolutely loved being here. My favourite thing about this place is the diversity in culture. I love getting to know the differet backgrounds and traditions to the respective cultures. I've seen many miracles out here and this has been the greatest experience of my life. Even better than anything I've ever done before the mission. This mission means everything to me. I've had a lot of great experiences before the mission. Even taking me to foreign lands to compete for my home country. At the center of everything I have I owe it to the gospel. Without the gospel in my life I would not have the same goals and aspirations that I do now. By living the gospel and truly seeking to do God's will, I have been able to see His hand at work in my life. I have been so blessed to have been born of goodly parents who showed me the way. All of us have trials. I've had a few. Things like injuries and mistakes cause feeling of grief, pain, and sorrow but it is through these experiences that my belief in God and in His Son have been tried and proven. I truly feel that God has a plan for each of us and I've been able to see His hand in my life guiding and directing me. My parents and my brother have taught me great values that make me the person I am today. I love my family so much and I know the gospel has blessed us. I know that God reaches out to me through them.

Why I am a Mormon

The complete feeling of happiness and joy that comes from the gospel is my motivation. The healing power that come from the Atonement of our Saviour Jesus Christ is the way that I feel His love. So many times I have felt like I do not know what to do but again and again I have recieved guidance and direction that has allowed me to find my way through life. The security and proctection that comes from keeping my covenants and God's commandments can not be found anywhere else. I know that following God's laws sets us free and does not restrict us. I am a Mormon not because I believe that simply belonging to a church allows me to be saved, but I know that it is because of the power of God's priesthood that I am able to make binding covenants with my Father in Heaven. And that power can only be found in His true church. The church is the means whereby He can deliver that power.

How I live my faith

Before I left on the mission I was an 11-year old scout leader. I loved the Boy Scouts and it was great to help young men learn the same things I learned. I love to serve people. Service is the way to happiness. There's nothing better than seeing the gratitude come from someone you've just been able to help when they really needed it. Living by the church standards allowed me to keep my body healthy to train and to enjoy life to the fullest. I deeply appreciate being brought up in an LDS household because it allowed me to understand why Jesus Christ is so important. As i learned from the testimony and example of my parents I grew to want to find out for myself if these things are true. Now that I have it has given me a reason to live. A purpose to be here and I am motivated and focused to live the way I need to here, to one day live with our Heavenly Father. Now as a missionary I get to share my personal experience with all of the people I meet it's the greatest thing I have ever done! Everyday I wake up and have an opportunity to study the great plan that God has given us and to prepare to share it with everyone I come into contact with. Serving the Lord during this time has allowed me to have such a great understanding of the gospel. Particularly the importance of the Book of Mormon, and why the gospel had to be restore through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I love my Saviour and I have come to understand that we would have nothing without Him.
