Hi I'm Christy :)

SoCal is my home. I love being outdoors and doing fun things with friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Christy! I'm a Southern California girl turned Idaho college student, and strengthening relationships and making all kinds of new friends are some of my favorite things. My hobbies include swimming (especially at the beach), reading (classic romances are my favorite), running long distance, and just hanging out with friends and trying new things with them. Disneyland holds some of my favorite memories but since going up to school, BYU-Idaho has an (almost) equal share. I'm a Chinese food enthusiast and a lover of pizza and cookie dough ice cream, but I try to eat healthy as well (sometimes). I think food is probably one of the greatest things about being alive. I'm very close to my mom and we love to eat frozen yogurt and binge watch TV shows together, especially Downton Abbey. I'm preparing to serve an 18 month mission for my church in the Chile Osorno area and I can't wait to see what new friends and happy memories I will make there. I'm a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I think I need to ask myself why I'm a Mormon a lot more often, so I'm glad I have this opportunity to think about it more. I was born into the church, and baptized when I was 8, but I don't think I understood the true value of the gospel until I was about a freshman in high school. I realized when I was there that I would quickly have to choose a side, whether I was going to live up to the standards I was raised by, or decide to do the opposite of what I'd been taught. I decided to do my very best to be a good member of the church, and I have not regretted that decision. Being a Mormon, and doing my best to live up to that title, has given me so much direction, purpose, discipline, and help in my life. There is no doubt in my mind that because I have chosen to trust in the Lord and try to be the best I can, I have ended up in the place that I am supposed to be, and hopefully making all the decisions that I'm supposed to make. I definitely love the Lord, and I'm grateful that I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others, and trying to be a good example of a Christian and a Latter-day Saint. I I live it by working to gain all the knowledge and experience I can, especially while in these formative ages of my life, so I can use that knowledge and experience I gain to help those around me, now and in the future. I live my faith by helping where I see the need for help, and allowing others to help me when I need it.
