Hi I'm Jacob

I grew up in Utah. I love running, hiking and backpacking. I love to learn. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grew up in Utah. I enjoy running, hiking in the nearby mountains, playing the piano, and being with my family. I love being an uncle for my nephews and niece. Schooling is also very important to me and I have completed two years of college while I was still in high school. Currently I am serving a full time, two year mission for the LDS church in Washington state.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church all of my life and it has always played a central role in my life. However, I realized that I needed to find out for myself if it was true and if I should continue to be a Mormon. So I began reading the Book of Mormon with the specific purpose in mind to know if it was true. I prayed everytime I began to read and asked God if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. Throughout this process there were many scriptures that touched my soul, and passages that came with greater clarity to my mind than they had in my previous readings of the Book of Mormon. When I came to the end of the Book of Mormon I took the challenge of the prophet Moroni which is found at the end of the book and states that if you have a desire to know if the Book of Mormon is true and if you have studied it with real intent with faith in Christ, that the Spirit of God will testify of the truth of the Book of Mormon. While I prayed and afterward, the experiences that I had had while studying the Book of Mormon came to my mind and as I thought about them the witness came to me that these experiences were the answer to my question and that I did know that the Book of Mormon was true. This witness and my love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the reason why I strive to serve God in all that I do. It is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Growing up I have served in many youth leadership positions in my local and religious youth groups. I have organized weekly activities, planned and carried out campouts, and prepared lessons in coordination with adult advisors for my youth groups. I have also served in my church as a hometeacher, where I would visit the homes of members and share a message about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Recently I served as the president of my Sunday School class. Currently, I am serving a full time mission for the LDS church in Washington state.
