Hi I'm Emily Stoddard

I am a wife, a mother of 3 kids. I love strawberry cheescake, reading good books, digital scrapbooking, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 8 1/2 years. I have 3 children and am currently expecting baby number 4. My life consists of running kids to and from school and soccer practices. I have been very blessed to stay at home and raise my children. They bring their challenges but also so many joys. I love to spend my free time reading a book or digital scrapbooking on my computer.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon! The church is so amazing. Every Sunday when I go to church I feel the Holy Ghost and feel rejuvenated. The LDS church has been a part of my life since birth and it has been the foundation on which I have been able to build my life. I know it is true with every fiber of my being. As I reflect on my life I can see the hand of God guiding me and strengthening me. I know it is true because the Holy Ghost has testified it to me through quiet whisperings in my heart. The Book of Mormon brings me so much peace and comfort. If you haven't read it you should. I know it to be a true book, one the Lord has preserved and brought forth in this day and age to guide us through the many difficulties we face. Life with all its challenges and trials always seems better when I have taken my problems to my Heavenly Father. When I kneel to pray I feel God's love surrounding me and sustaining me through my weaknesses. Repentance is real. I am so thankful to a loving Heavenly Father who forgives me and loves me. I am trying every day to be more like my Savior Jesus Christ. I know this is His church I have seen His hand in it. I am so thankful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At church, I work with the young children ages 18 months to 11 years. As their leader I get to teach them about their Savior Jesus Christ and his love for them. I love to see there smiling faces every Sunday. Children are so amazing and incredible. They have so much faith, so much trust, and so much love to give. They are rowdy sometimes and let's face it they are kids but next to that there is such a pureness about these sweet spirits from God that makes life so much better. I am called to teach them but really they teach me so much more. I also get to serve with other women at church. We swap babysitting and play dates and recipes and cleaning tips and through all this serving and sharing I have made so many lasting friendships. I have been so blessed by the people at church who love me and help me and my network of support is so great. My daughter was put back in the hospital at 5 weeks old with a temperature of 104. Doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong. They did every test imaginable on my baby. They finally figured out she had kidney reflux. She was on IV antibiotics for 14days in the hospital. So many people from church came by and visited with me or watched my child so I could get a breath of fresh air. I was so supported and loved. I remember watching another mother struggle to leave her baby at the hospital all alone because she had another child she had to take care of at home and the hospital wouldn't allow any children in. It broke my heart to see how alone she was and how much support and love I had. It made me realize how blessed I was to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
