Hi I'm Rebecka

I've moved all over the United States throughout my life. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have moved a lot throughout my life, from California to Oklahoma to New Hampshire to Utah. There were few things I found staying constant across the country. The two main things that I found were my family and the Mormon church. Every other religion I knew of had differences in the views of the pastors and ministers in different congregations around the country. I like consistency in views. After high school, I started going to college. I was studying Communications, with a goal of becoming a news anchor. This has been my dream for about 7 years now. I know I will eventually achieve my goals. However, for now I am working through school, so that it will be possible to achieve my goals.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon, and I went to church with my parents and grandparents. I always felt hopeful and optimistic when I thought about the things I learned at church. As I grew and we moved away from family and friends, I found out that I had to know what I believed in. I could not just rely on my parents' beliefs for my entire life. The church's consistency in it's beliefs, traditions, teachings, and interpretations of scripture showed me that truth cannot be changed. I gained my own testimony and now know that if I had not found and accepted the teachings as a young teenager I would not be the optimistic and happy person I am today.

How I live my faith

I attend a ward of unmarried students here on campus. Over the years I have helped with the youth programs, been a children's Sunday School teacher, and I have also lead the music in various meetings. Currently, I am on the service committee of our women's group. I go visit the women of our ward and take care of any needs they may have.
