Hi I'm Debi

I was raised in Southern California. I own a small business in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah, but raised in Southern California. I was number three in a family of 6 kids. I now live in Utah again and my husband and I have 5 kids and a beautiful grand daughter. I own and run a small business with my wonderful husband. I still play competitive softball - something I've done since childhood. I love the outdoors, in fact I would rather be outside than in. I ski, snowboard, golf, run, bike, kayak, snowshoe, canyoneer, camp, hike, anything that gets me outside. I guide trails off road in my Jeep in Moab.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born to parents who taught me to believe in truth. They were also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so they taught by example! When I was 17 I felt the need to know for myself weather or not the Book of Mormon was the word of God. When I prayed about knowing that, I also wanted to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and spoke the truth about his experiences, the Spirit of the Lord (the Holy Ghost) was present to let me know that these things were true and that my faith was where it should be. He was pleased with my desire to know. That was the beginning of my personal conversion. At 20 I had a strong desire to serve a mission for the Lord. I again prayed to know if this was pleasing to God. Again the Holy Ghost was present and this time he filled my soul with the greatest warmth I had ever felt. Again I knew that this answer was from God - that He was please with my desire. So, at 21 I served in the Canada Toronto Mission for 18 months. I now am at an age that some would say is old - 49. My love for the Book of Mormon has continued to increase and carry me through ALL the challenges in my life so far. The power I feel every time I read it fills me with confidence that it is truth and it does come from Heavenly Father. It is the word of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in my continued service in the Church. I work in the Young Women's as the first councilor. I have gone to Girls Camp 8 years in a row - and counting! My calling is one of the best in the church - besides Nursery! Because of my calling I get to participate in every "flag" day of the year, by placing a flag in the yard of every ward member. I feel privileged to do it too, because I have two sons in the US Army - one who died as a soldier. It is my way of saying thank you to all the soldiers past and present for serving God and their country. I try to always be the example that my parents were to me. My family is my most prized possession and I want them with me forever!
