Hi I'm Amy

I'm a teacher who loves being happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 5th grade teacher and recently started a masters program in education. I'm the youngest of six children; not only do I admire my family members but I also love spending time with them whenever possible. Laughing, smiling, playing cards, watching movies and sports, hiking, running, cycling, and meeting new people are a few things that bring me joy. I am passionate about progression and feel so grateful when I recognize Heavenly Father's hand in helping me change and improve. I know I am a child of God and that He cares and loves me too.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be LDS because of the happiness I feel in knowing that God's true church has been restored on the Earth today. I love the joy I feel in living the gospel of Jesus Christ and discovering answers to life's questions through studying the scriptures, words of the living prophets, and making and keeping sacred covenants with God. Yes, this life is a time filled with trial and my life is no exception. However, "men are that they might have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25) and I sincerely feel the greatest joy in trusting God and living according to His gospel. There have been times when I have asked God if He really cares and if so, why He allows me to go through periods of sadness, heartache, loneliness, and trials. During these times, when I sincerely pray to my Heavenly Father, He blesses me with moments of relief, moments of peace and clarity where I feel reassured of His love and genuine care. God has a plan and has provided a Savior, Jesus Christ, to provide a perfect example and pathway to allow me a means of improving my life, changing my very nature, and preparing me to be a disciple of Christ who helps others return to His presence. In short, I have a firm knowledge that I am a child of God. I have felt His love when I pray and seek to see His hand in my life. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. He is my exemplar, teacher, advocate, and friend. Because I recognize and accept Christ as my Savior, I want to do what He asks of me and live according to His gospel.

How I live my faith

Honestly every day I strive to be more like my Savior. Knowing that I am one of God's children, and that everyone surrounding me is also His children, motivates me to reach out and get to know more of His children. My hope is that through learning about the stories of others - the interests, struggles, highs, lows, and everything in between - I not only can learn more about myself but also create connections that can last forever. A key part of how I live my faith revolves around being worthy to enter and serving the Lord in the temple. I am so grateful Heavenly Father has provided a way for us to learn more about His plan, our purpose here on Earth, and how we can prepare to return to His presence. Consequently, I strive to live in such a way that I can qualify myself to enter His holy house where I am able to make and keep sacred covenants with Him. For me, the temple provides peace in this life and boundless hope and happiness in the eternities.
