Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a geek :) I love music, science fiction and gaming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern California I am the youngest of 4 sisters, my closest sister in age being 13 years older than me. I always had pets while growing up and it has carried over into my adult life, I have a cat an 2 ferrets. I love animals and I am a sap when it comes to taking in strays and finding them homes. Through out school I was kind of a nerd, I loved class, I never missed school, I got very good grades and got along really well with my teachers and a majority of the students. My High School was art based and I became a huge band and drama geek. However, after I graduated I couldn't get into the groove of college and I have been working ever since. I have worked fast food, retail, banking and now I work in Human Health and Services. I married and divorced my high school sweetheart. In the past 6 years I have lived in California, Washington, Nevada and Nebraska.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Baptist. When I was about 15 I began truly searching for the right church. I researched and visited all the protestant churches, nondenominational, and a even read about the pagan religions. I got very frustrated and quit church altogether for a while and just drifted. I got married, divorced moved through a few states and ended up in a small town in Death Valley where it was 2 hours to the closest Walmart. I had a guy I liked and I wanted him to move there with me. He told me he would only move there if there was a LDS church there. I googled it and there was a very small church less than a block form my apartment. He moved down and I went to church with him out of curiosity. Everyone in the church was so nice welcoming. They missionaries were knowledgeable and funny. It was the first church I had ever went to where I actually wanted to return the next Sunday. Everything I heard coincided and clarified the teachings I learned growing up. I was given a Book of Mormon. I prayed for the first time in a long time to know if this was the right path I was going down and to know if what I was reading and being taught was true. My heart flooded with emotion and I began to cry. I felt the truth. I knew that I reading the words of God. It took almost no effort to convert me after that. When the missionaries would talk, while reading the scriptures and attending church I would feel that warmth in my heart. I still do and the feeling only get stronger. I am not with the guy anymore but this church has stuck. I love they way I feel and the blessings I have been given since my conversion. I know this is the true church and I hope that someday everyone will feel the joy that I have found.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and I go to as many activities as I can fit in my schedule. I have changed my life a lot since I converted by doing my best to live a wholesome lifestyle. I help out people in the church and community the best I can by donating my time and participating in events. I read the scriptures often and I share my faith and happiness with everyone I can.
