Hi I'm Sharon.

I was born and raised in Hawaii. I'm a mother of 5 and a nationally certified critical care nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Hawaii and dreamed of becoming a marine biologist since I was a child. I graduated with a B.S. in Zoology and was working at jobs that I loved, with the Waikiki Aquarium and the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology, when I became pregnant with my first child. Realizing that my children needed me at home, I quit both of those jobs to stay home and raise my children. Ten years later, after my fifth child began school, I went back to school to become a nurse, a career that I also love very much. My children are very active in sports, scouting and other extra curricular activities. I enjoy watching their games and seeing them develop their talents. When I have the time, I like to spend it exercising, sewing, cooking and doing cross-stitch. I also enjoy studying and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised LDS and actively participated in the church's programs as a child. However, like everyone else, I eventually had to develop my own testimony. As I progressed through the youth program, with the help of loving parents and leaders, I was able to come to know for myself that the church was true. I know without a doubt that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father who truly wants the best for me and my family. He knows me by name and He knows my needs and the desires of my heart. I know that Heavenly Father always hears and answers my prayers. My prayers may not be answered in the way that I would like, but they are always answered in a way that is best for me. I have seen his hand in my life many times and I am so grateful for the many blessings that I have received. We all have our trials in life, but as we trust in the Lord, we will be blessed. As I have looked back at the hardest times in my life, I have come to realize that those were the times that I have learned and grown the most. I have no doubt that as we follow the commandments and trust in the Lord, He will help us to reach our greatest potential. He does not want us to fail.

How I live my faith

As a family, we attend church weekly and participate in daily prayers and scripture studies. I currently care for and teach the 18 month-3 year old group at church. I also attend the temple regularly and participate in service projects. Most importantly, I do my best to live the commandments and to be a good example to those around me. I enjoy being a nurse because I allows me to serve and care for others on a daily basis.
