Hi I'm Chelsie

I am a mother, a wife, a piano teacher, a former elementary school teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a sport-loving, full-time worker and MBA-student. We met in college and have been married for 4 and a half years. I am a mother of two adorable little girls who keep me on my toes every minute of the day (and night). I am a former elementary school teacher. I taught third and first grades and loved both. I now teach piano lessons in my home and love the opportunity to continue teaching young children. I love learning new things. I love to craft, bake, decorate, and socialize. I wish I was an amazing photographer, but even though I am not, I still love capturing moments from behind the lens. I love traditions, candy, and my family. I am grateful for the gospel in my life. It affects everything I do every day and it helps me to recognize the most important things and make the most of every day. It is why I am truly happy.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and also raised my brothers and I in the church. Although I attended church from the time I was an infant, I distinctly remember gaining a testimony of my own at age 12. I was at a summer camp for the girls in our church, ages 12-18. At the end of the week, we were at a meeting where some of the leaders spoke and shared reasons why they knew the Gospel was true. I felt more peace and comfort than I had ever before felt in my life. I felt more loved than I had ever felt and I knew what I was feeling was a witness of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was feeling my Heavenly Father's love for me, his daughter. Although I was just one of hundreds of girls at the camp that week, I knew that I was loved individually as a daughter of God and that my Heavenly Father knew me personally. Thirteen years later, I still rely on that simple experience I had at a camp in a completely different place than I live now. I think about my Heavenly Father's love for me each day. It brings me comfort when I am down and discouraged and adds even more joy when I am happy. All of the blessings in my life have come from my Heavenly Father and are a result of striving to live as He would have me do. Although I fall short so often, the Lord's mercy is greater than I can comprehend and I feel grateful to feel His love in my life. I am so grateful to be able to teach my own daughters the truthfulness of the Gospel and to see it bless their lives as fully as it has blessed mine.

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful privilege of serving in the Primary each Sunday at church. The Primary is an organization for children ages 3-11. Children attend age-specific classes where they learn Gospel truths and then meet together with other classes to hear a child give a talk, learn more about Jesus Christ and his church, and sing songs. I am the chorister in primary and get to lead the children in singing each week. There is always a very sweet spirit in primary as the children sing songs about who they are and why their Heavenly Father loves them. It brings me such joy to look into each of their faces as they sing and to feel a small part of the love that Heavenly Father has for each of his children. I know that as I serve, my capacity to love is increased and I also recognize my Heavenly Father's love for me and all of my blessings more fully.
