Hi I'm Merinda Elkington

I'm a Mormon. I want to be a Physical Therapist & I love the gospel.

About Me

I am currently working and trying to get thru school to finish my bachelors to go to grad school to become a Physical Therapist. I have about 2 yrs left and I can wait!!! In the meantime I love volunteering and working with people. I enjoy outdoors (I grew up on a farm), and I just started getting into running. I am wanting to become a personal trainer (to help me become a PT). I am a bit of a nerd because I like to work with computers and I like to learn useless information, ie. a quarter has 118 grooves on the side of it and a dime has 10 less. I love photography and art. I have tried to focus on the positive things and it helps me to be thankful. I am youngest of 6 kids and I have 4 older brothers.

Why I am a Mormon

Although my family was already int he church when I was born and baptized when I was 8, I really didn't gain my testimony until I was 14. I knew then I would serve a mission. After my mission I went through some very difficult trials and for a time even tried to turn completely away from God. During this time I realized I couldn't turn away, or even run away. I was so unhappy, and so lost. I knew the Lord wanted me to be happy and He would not want me to be confused or frustrated. I am so glad to say now that I have a close personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior. I am so happy and so grateful for all they have done. I love the gospel and it truly is the good news. I know first hand from my own personal experience that I will NEVER leave the gospel again, and I wouldn't want to. God is real. He loves us and wants us to be happy. He loves us so much that He sent his own son to die for us. I know miracles happen everyday!!!!! Even the scriptures and how we have them are a miracle! We are so blessed to have a prophet on the Earth and to have temples everywhere!!!!

How I live my faith

As a member of the church I get to me a missionary, only I get to have an official title, I am a ward missionary. I think it is just a fancy way of saying I get to be friends with everyone and meet new people.
