Hi I'm Christine

I love sci-fi and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student majoring in Humanities. I'm a self-proclaimed nerd/geek/what have you. I love sci-fi like Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, and I like superheroes, most notably Batman. If it's generally geeky, I'm totally there. I love reading and I'm an American history enthusiast. George Washington is my hero. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and have lived in it my whole life. I've been lucky enough to stay faithful throughout my lifetime, through hardships and good times. To me the gospel just makes so much sense, and the Bible and the Book of Mormon together are just such a perfect pairing. To have such a wonderful ward family, and such a great spirit around when I'm with other members, is such a relief and break from the darkness of the world. The gospel to me is more than just a way of thinking, but a way of life, and I try to show it in all I do. The gospel includes all things good and wonderful, and who doesn't want that?

How I live my faith

I try to keep the gospel in all aspects of my life because "we stand as witnesses of God, at all times and in all things and in all places." I read my scriptures daily, and pray about them before I do so that I can understand the teachings within. Every night I read from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and see how well they fit together. I pray morning and night on my knees because I know that I have a direct line of communication with my Heavenly Father and that he wants to hear from me. I attend church every Sunday and participate in class discussions about the gospel and it's teachings, and try my best to show my love for my brothers and sisters through friendship and service, such as visiting teaching where I get to teach and offer service to my fellow sisters. By doing these things I can have the Holy Ghost as my constant companion and feel the promptings of the spirit and it is such a comfort and blessing in my life.
