Hi I'm Charlotte

I'm a wife, mother, avid reader, world-traveler in the making and an Oakland Raiders fan by marriage. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Hoosier, born and raised. I grew up with six fantastic people who are not just my siblings, but my friends. I went to Purdue and met a Raiders fan that I just couldn't live without. Thirteen years later, we have three fantastic little people and a lot of fun. I love being a mom! I'm able to stay home and spend time volunteering at my kids' school, co-chairing book fairs and helping out whenever I can. In a previous life, I worked as a global marketing assistant in the pharmaceutical industry. I now work part-time from home conducting research and editing documents for a fine art appraiser and I enjoy the work and all the new things I learn about while doing it. I love to travel and had big plans to move out of Indiana and never have, but I don't mind. I've been to Mexico, England, France, and Japan and learned Indiana is a great place to call home. I love different languages and cultures and our family has a huge geographical bucket list. I devour books. Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors. I love a good story and when I can't find one, I've been known to write my own. I'm a fan of creativity in general. Books, movies, art - I enjoy them immensely. Famous or not, I find people and what drives them interesting. I love biographies and history. I believe remembering the past builds a better future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon household, but had a struggled with church as a teenager. I wasn't really sure I believed everything. When I arrived at Purdue, I realized that I was on my own. It was up to me. I decided that I would go to church and really make an effort to apply it's teachings in my life and then if it didn't "work" at least I know I really tried. I started reading my scriptures and praying earnestly to my Father in Heaven. I attended church and participated in Sunday school and Relief Society lessons. I learned that the gospel really was true and that I find peace and joy in my life when I follow his teachings. I feel the love of my Savior and my Father in heaven every day. I'm so glad I didn't turn away from the church. I have been blessed with so many beautiful things and raised up through my trials. Being a member of the church and applying it's teachings to my life helps me be a better wife to my best friend, mother to my children, sister and friend to those around me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by accepting whatever calling I am asked to have. I currently serve as a secretary in our Young Women's presidency and get to spend time with all the wonderful teen-aged girls in our ward. They are beautiful daughters of God. I have had a lot of different callings in the church and each one has helped me grow spiritually. I also try to live my faith by being a good citizen. I try to be a good neighbor and pray for opportunities to serve. I love service opportunities that allow our whole family to participate in together.
