Hi I'm Yasmin

I'm a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it.

About Me

I love the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love to and I know that it is true. When I was an infant, I was baptized in the Catholic church. In my childhood, every Sunday morning, I would go with my father to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in the afternoon with my mother to the Catholic church. When I was eight, I decided to get baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I feel that it is true and I love being a member of it. I used to attend primary classes and learn about the gospel at an early age. Though I have been a member of the church since I was 8, I did not read the scriptures always as taught. That is one thing I regret in my life. I should have read it at an early age and learned more when I was young. I am grateful that the Lord made me realize that it is important and it can change lives for the better. I am grateful because I know that it is true. You can know it too. =) And if you will ask me, why am I a Mormon? I would answer... because I KNOW THAT IT TRUE. I know that Jesus Christ is the one that leads this church.

How I live my faith

I trying to be like Jesus. He does not expect me to be perfect but I know that he wants me to do my best. I attend institute classes. It is place to be as a college student. I live my faith by reading the scriptures and acting upon the things that I learn. I play the piano in church meetings. I may not be very good pianist, but I try my best just to serve Him. Whenever I play the piano, I feel closer to my Father in Heaven who gave me that gift. I live my faith by being an example of the believers and by standing in holy places.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Yasmin
No. In Doctrine and Covenants 4, it is mentioned that "If ye have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work." Young men and women in the right age are invited not mandated to serve missions. They apply if they want to. Though it is a commandment to men, it is still up to him to decide if he wanted to.It is a voluntary act. It is a way for members to show their love for the Lord through full-time service. Show more Show less
