Hi I'm Leslie

I am a wife and mother of boys. I love home improvement projects, family activities, sports, and a good book. I am a mormon.

About Me

Being a wife and mother has been the most rewarding job I could ever imagine. I have loved being home raising my sons. They are grown now and have become remarkable adults. You can often find me working on home improvement projects. I have redone my fireplace, removed a wall, installed can-lights, rebuilt my staircase and painted every room in my home. These are just a few of my projects. Crown molding will be my next undertaking….I’m just not sure how to do it. I have learned most of my carpentry skills from my dad, who has mentored me in most of my projects. It has been a wonderful way to spend time with him. Some of my other hobbies are gardening, crocheting, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon has been the greatest blessing of my life. My religion keeps me grounded and focused. I know that God loves me. He is aware of me and He answers my prayers. I am a Mormon because through the proper priesthood authority I can be with my family forever. When I live God’s commandments I experience overwhelming joy and happiness. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, asked God in prayer if it is His word, and have received a spiritual witness that it is true. Therefore, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, just as Thomas S. Monson is the prophet on the earth today.

How I live my faith

One thing that I have done over my years of marriage is to try to make my home a place of refuge from the world for my husband and children. I wanted to have a home where they can come and escape the pressures of work and school, a place where they can receive unconditional love and acceptance. When anyone walks into my home I want them to know that we believe in Christ and it is Him that we pattern our life after. It hasn’t always been perfect, but I keep trying. I try to be a good friend. I hope that through my actions my friends will know that I believe in Christ. I serve in the Church. I enjoy spending time with the youth. Planning activities that will make them better people, strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ, and giving them opportunities to make good friends. My testimony of Christ as my Savior is strengthened by their wonderful example. They make me a better person.
