Hi I'm Kirstyn

I'm a college student. I'm a Californian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really enjoy camping and backpacking. I love the outdoors and love being around nature. I am an avid reader and read all different kinds of books. I am currently attending college in Idaho. I enjoy experimenting with baking and cooking. I love music and I love to dance. I am very interested in computers and may possibly pursue Web Design/Development as a career path. I am going to be serving a mission in Japan in the next couple weeks for 18 months and I could not be more excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been Mormon all my life and I am so grateful to be a member of the Lord's church. I know with all my heart that this gospel is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and he restored the living gospel to the Earth. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon with the help of the Lord. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and every time I read it I feel the love of God fill my heart and I feel peace enter my soul. The book is filled with so many words of comfort and words of truth that give me knowledge of my Lord and Savior. The Book of Mormon is without a doubt, truly another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lives and he is my Savior. I am so grateful for everything he has done for me. He has suffered for my sins and pains of life. I know that through the Atonement I can be forgiven of my sins and that the Lord knows what I am going through whenever challenges and trials come into my life. Being a Mormon allows me to be around amazing people who share my values and beliefs. These people have the same love for Christ and it creates a peaceful atmosphere. Wherever I go, no matter the city, state or country, the church is always the same because the gospel is always the same and will be forever more.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to others. I refrain from swearing, drinking, ect. I make sure that when I go out my clothing is modest. I also take care to make sure that my actions and words are kind and respectful. I have helped with a lot of different callings in my church such as being an advisor to the teenaged girls, planning activities for church, doing family history work, and aiding in the teaching of the younger children. I really enjoy visiting teaching in which I go out and visit other sisters in my ward. I talk with them, make sure they are doing okay, and then I share a spiritual thought. Another way I am living my faith is by making the decision to serve a mission so I can share with others what I know to be true. I will be serving in Japan where I will share my feelings on how I know this gospel is true and how it can bless the lives of others.
