Hi I'm Linda

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I am the mother of 5 sons and 6 grandsons.

About Me

I met my husband while I was going to college and we were married before I graduated. I was a stay at home Mom of 5 sons that were born over 15 years. Sixteen years ago, when my youngest son turned 16 I went to work for the school district. I take care of sick and injured children and record the medical records for all the children in the school. I love my job because I like the staff I work with and enjoy the little children I see every day. I am fortunate that our sons and our six grandson all live close by. I think it is great when we all get together and I see how much fun our grandsons have together. I also enjoy traveling just about anywhere, reading and bargain shopping.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon and have chosen to continue in the faith. I believe in God because I cannot believe that this beautiful world and everything in it (including us) happend by accident. I believe that God is our heavenly father and that he sent his only begotten son, Jesus, to be an example to us in how to live our lives and to suffer for our sins so that we can all return to heaven and live with him again. Being a Mormon Christian just makes sense to me.and has has brought me much happiness. Growing up I was surrounded by a huge group of friends that had the same values that I had and we had a wonderful time being together and trying to live a Christ centered life. I went to Brigham Young University and once again was surrounded by young men and women who were living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I met by husband there and we were married in the Los Angeles Mormon temple. We have been married for 48 years and we believe that through our faithfulness to the gospel we can be together as a family with our children for eternity. We believe that everyone who ever lives on this earth will have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ and accept or reject his teachings. Those who do not have the opportunity to learn about Christ here on earth will have the opportunity after death. I have found that by following Christ's teachings I have avoided many pitfalls in life. The gospel also brings me hope and peace.

How I live my faith

During my years as a Mormon I have had many opportunities to learn many skills and to serve in many capacities in the church. I have learned how to be a public speaker by writing talks and speaking at church meetings. I have learned to prepare and give lessons to children, teenagers and adults. I have organized gourps of people to help and serve each other. I have visited women each month to become friends with them and help them when they needed help. I have organized parties for 10 to 300 people. I have learned how to follow a budget and stay within it. I have learned how to work together in a group and to follow and support a leader. In addition to feeling the joy of accompishment and the happiness from serving, the skills I have learned at church have helped me to a better person, friend, wife, mother and employee. I always try to be honest, concientious, friendly and helpful. I try to live my life the way Jesus lived his.
