Hi I'm Jon

I grew up in Michigan and currently live in South Carolina. I work for a power tool company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In my free time, I work in our yard and spend time with my family. I like to run and stay fit. I am a car buff and love to draw. My sons are my joy and are very active in sports and the outdoors. My wife and my family bring me happiness. I have a wonderful job designing power tools.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS Church. However, as I approached adulthood, I realized the need to know for myself if the principles I grew up with were true. I had learned the stories in the scriptures and had heard and memorized many verses out of the Bible and Book of Mormon since I was little. It was not until I was much older that I read the scriptures all the way through. As part of my pursuit for my own personal testimony I prayed to know if the Gospel and the Book of Mormon were true. The strong feelings of conviction that I felt thereafter created a definite sense of truthfulness of the things I had read and had been taught. They were true. These feelings came in a way that I had never felt before and is difficult to describe. However, this conviction and these feelings have brought me to know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet called of God to restore the fullness of Christ's Gospel in our day, and that we have a prophet today. My faith and conviction of these things modivate me to make the Gospel the central part of my life--with my family and how I relate with others.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in church activities. As an assistant clerk, I help maintain the records in our local congregation (ward). My son and I visit several families in our church as a part of helping others stay connected with the church and the Gospel. We try to find ways to help them any way we can. I live my faith most by trying my best to follow Christ's example of helping those around me, and sharing with others who I am and what I believe.
