Hi I'm Brian Wilson

I love graffiti and all things beautiful, I was an atheist, but now I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 22 years old and I grew up an athiest slash agnostic in a "Mormon" home. I was diagnosed with Adult-ADHD just out of high school. My family is the most important thing in my life, and I do believe that true friends are the family you choose. I am an artist. I enjoy drawing, taking photos, and when I grow up I want to be a Graphic Designer. I love take time to study lettering (fronts, size, color, the way the words on billboards move your eye) whenever I get a chance. I love Graffiti, both my own, and the stuff that that is found on the sides of trains, and building. I love music! I could talk about good music all day! I listen to Underground Rap, Indie, Ska, Folk, Alternative, Punk, Reggae, and I have a soft spot in my heart for that heavy stuff that most grown adults hate.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Salt Lake Valley, were the Church was a heavy influence, but early in life I was put through some very trying things. Resulting from those trials came a doubt and disbelief in God. I spent my life growing up being called "mormon" because of my families involvement in the church, but I was an atheist slash agnostic till I was 19. I spent a long time filling my life with things that I thought made me happy but time and again nothing brought that lasting happiness I longed for. Heavenly Father knew what I needed. He had raised me in a home where I uniquely could learn just what He wanted to teach me. I see that He all along wanted me to know that He loved me and does love all His children. I had friends brought into my life that helped me tear down the walls I had built. They taught me just how to feel, to really love and be loved. They helped me be honest with myself and I know it wasn’t chance that they were there. Their influence and my own desire for something more lead me to The Book of Mormon, and the challenge it's existance makes to the world. I didn't know exactly how it all worked, but I was promised by many dear friends and family members that I could find happiness from finding out if it was true through reading, pondering, and praying about it. I did just that (because I have trouble reading I first downloaded then listened to the Book of Mormon on MP3) and got my answer one warm summer’s night while praying to Heavenly Father. I felt a burning in my bosom that I could never doubt nor deny. I still dont know how it all works but I do know the Book of Mormon is true, and I know that I am loved by a Heavenly Father, and that is why I am a Mormom.

How I live my faith

Well, I do my best to remain true to the thing I know and invite others to do the same. I am currently serving the wonderful people living in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a full time missionary, but sooner than later I will be back at home practicing what I preach.... in other words I strive to live without regret by living the commandments of God and fallowing my Saviors example, wherever I find myself.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Because once truly understood, through study, pray and application, it is truly known by the reader to be the Word of God. The KJV is the version held to be the most correctly translated. Show more Show less
