Hi I'm Colbey

I love sports,I believe a good attitude changes everything! Let your flyness outweigh your shyness! Im serving in Raleigh, NC.

About Me

I grew up in a Mount Pleasant Utah and went to North Sanpete High! I have been through one year of college and am going into criminal justice. I love playing sports especially baseball, The San Fransisco Giants are my team! I love being outside and just being active. I am in a family of 6, my parents, my older brother Scott who is 23, my sister Ana who is 18, and my youngest sister Necia who would be 14 this year. I was called to serve a mission in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission and will be serving there from October 2011 to October of 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was 12 I remember recalling that I just didnt want to go to church. As I grew up this had still not changed. I reached the age of 18 and was in my first year of college and had been inactive from the mormon church for about 4 months. I had a couple life changing events happen all at once and suddenly I felt like for the first time in my life I had no sense of direction. My roommate invited me to go to church with him that upcoming Sunday and I gladfully excepted. I noticed while I was at church I felt a sense of calm and belonging I had never felt before. I went back the next week and months to follow. My faith began to grow more and more as the time went by and 8 months after my friend had invited me to church for that first time I was turning in my mission papers. Going on a mission is something I had never anticapated in my life. When I turned my papers in I felt like I now had the sense of direction again in my life. I know this church is true and because of the influence of this true gospel in my life I am now serving in the great state of North Carolina!

How I live my faith

I believe you live your faith by the way you live and act. I have had so many great people be an example for me in my life to get me to where I am now. I believe that living right and being an example to others is an amazing way to live your faith. As we live our faith not only do we improve our lifestlye but we can also improve the lives of so many people around us! I firmly beleive that we are given trials in our life not to just afflict us or to make us unhappy but to help us improve in this life to be able to be the people we need to be in the presence of our Heavenly Father again someday. My favorite scripture is Mosiah 3:17 it speaks of as we overcome worldly desires we gain Christlike attributes and are more able to know what God wants for us. God knows what we need better than we ourselves know. There is no growth without discomfort.
