Hi I'm Dana

I grew up in Illinois with my two brothers. I am now living in Arizona where I served my mission with my wife and three kids.

About Me

I am a father of three wonderful kids. Two girls and one boy. My wife and I have been married now for eight years. We have been through a lot together; between surgeries, kids in the hospital, miscarriages, and general growing pains of all sorts. Everything that I have been through in my life has helped prepare me for these trials and my wife has been an inspiration to me through all of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because I know it is true. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and redeemer and that he called a prophet to restore and guide His church in preparation for the Savior's return to this Earth. I know this because I have studied and prayed about what is contained in sacred scripture; The Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible, along with the Book of Mormon. I have also witnessed to many things to deny what I know to be true. I also feel the Spirit of God in the meetings that I go to, when I read the scriptures, when I pray, when I share my thoughts and feelings with others, especially with my family. There are many in this world that are lost and do not know where they came from, why they are here, or where they will go once they have left this life. I am glad that I can confidently say that I know the answers to these questions and that I can share them, and more, with those who will listen.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher in my ward/congregation. I teach the men who are older than 18 and help them to understand principles of the Gospel. Most of the time they end up teaching me as well. I also work with our young men in the scouting program and help them to prepare for some of the big choices they will make in their lives as well as what the blessings and consequences are. I strive to work hard to support my family and provide them with a home that is safe and nurturing. I help my wife with the little things like doing the dishes, helping kids with homework, taking out the trash. We try to help our neighbors where we see that there is a need. We also pray for our friends, family, and neighbors that God will bless them with what they desire and need and try to see how God would use us in helping those around us.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith but we consider him to be a prophet that was called of God and Jesus Christ in the same way that Moses was called. We worship God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Joseph did many things in his time that he deserves recognition for. These things he did for the love of Heavenly Father's children, for all of us. He knew that what he was doing would benefit God's children for generations to come. Show more Show less
