Hi I'm Susan

I live in Washington. I volunteer my sewing skills for a non profit organization that teaches youth ballroom dance. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am blessed to have a wonder husband and 6 grown daughters with sons-in-law and grandchildren joining our lives and bringing us joy. I also have the privilege to be able to share my talent and love of sewing with many people especially the youth ballroom dance team that I volunteer for. I also like to work in my yard and help others learn new skills and improve their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a small girl I wondered about God and if there really was a God and what He might be like if there was one. I would visit various churches when given the opportunity. As I got to be a preteen I learned more about Christ and His atoning sacrifice for me. I noticed though as I visited some of the Churches that the pastor seemed to always raise his voice really loudly and tell the people that they were sinners and all about how bad they must be, but when ever I visited the Mormon church the people talked about how much God loved us and I felt at peace there. So at age 13 I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). Through the years I have continued to study and learn more about our Loving Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God bears witness to me of the truths I continue to learn through this gospel and helps me to draw closer to God everyday. How I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and I am grateful for all He has done for me. That He led me to His church and He makes it possible for me to return and live forever with Him.

How I live my faith

I am a busy mom and grandmother and I find joy in serving my family, friends, fellow saints, and others I meet. I have had the great pleasure of serving with the dance team that a couple of my daughters use to be part of, my girls grew up and graduated from the team but they have let me keep being a part of the organization. I sew costumes for them and help run the dressing rooms when they have shows. I am their fix it fast when something breaks just before going on stage person. This allows me to share one of my talents with many people since there are about 100 students on this team. I also try to help my neighbors and watch out for them. I also especially enjoy helping an elderly person when I am out in the community and notice one that needs you just to do what might seem like a little thing like reaching up on a high shelf at the store, holding the door for them, help them load their groceries in their car, or the like. These things used to be easy for them but as they get older they struggle with them. They always smile and say the nicest things which makes me happy.
