Hi I'm Jacob Hixson

I love my wife, my two kids, and my two dogs. I love what the Gospel has done for me and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

26 years old.. I am married and have two beautiful kiddo's.. My daughter is almost 3, and my son is almost 1. I did a few semesters in college for architecture and computer science, but eventually fell into the art of photography, hence: I am a portrait / wedding photographer. Love the technology of it all. My wife Brittany is a stay at home mom, but works a lot with me during photo shoots, and especially weddings. It's a blessing and a curse working with your spouse, but ultimately, I'm grateful I have been given the opportunity. Right now, I'm just working on building our family run business into one that will provide a substantial enough living (financially) for us.

Why I am a Mormon

The Scriptures testify of Heavenly Father, and our Savior Jesus Christ & the Spirit has touched my heart so much that I know them to be true. As I know the Scriptures to be true, and strive to live by its teachings, I have found no greater parallel than that of the teachings of the Mormon Religion. This is because the teachings are through and through - the Scriptures. There is no picking and choosing of scriptures to justify why one verse is more correct over another. Rather, there is an explanation for everything as to fit it all together like a puzzle. I have prayed about this church, the Book of Mormon, and other questions about the church and feel inspired by the Holy Spirit that these things are true. I'm a very very technical kind of guy! Unfortunately, there's no possible way that any one Religion can be proven true - so much that there is no question in anybody's mind to differ.. But, these things can be proven to individuals on an individual basis. Not by being taught by another, but by asking God for yourself. If God is your Father in Heaven, and is a Perfect God, He probably loves you! He probably has a PERFECT LOVE for you. If he loves you, he would most likely want to give you blessings. If this Church contains His fullness of Truth here on the earth, He would probably want you to find out about it. So... If you ask in Faith, he WILL answer you, in a way that will be personal to you; your thoughts and feelings. You will know for yourself! The one scripture you will probably hear the most is (James 1:5 in the New Testament). But the truth is, throughout the entire Scriptures, people have been instructed to pray.. And throughout the entire Scriptures, people have been blessed and had their prayers answered. If they are God's children, and he loves them... What would make you think you're any different?

How I live my faith

On the outside, I probably look like a great person, but that doesn't mean that I don't have trials, or things that I struggle with. I live my faith by trying to do better. Sometimes, I do worse. Our life on earth isn't about being perfect, its about trying to progress! You will be your own best judge on how good you're actually doing...
