Hi I'm Jeff

I teach theatre grades 6 through university. I like to sing and play sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married almost ten years and have two wonderful children. We all enjoy art projects and singing. We love walks outside and fresh air. I had a career in sales until life pointed me in a different direction. It was tough to go back to school and give up a steady income, especially with my wife expcting our first child, but I knew it was what I needed to do. Even in a difficult job market I was able to get a job teaching theatre, public speaking, and social studies after finishing my certification. Now I teach theatre at a middle school and high school level, plus I teach a university theatre class. I love helping students create something bigger than themselves that can entertain a large audience so well. I learn as much as I teach.

Why I am a Mormon

Through studying and prayer I came to know that the gospel is true. I feel our Savior's love to know that he died for me, took my sins upon Him, and had the mercy to forgive me for the pain. I am so grateful that He has called a prophet in these days, since it is sometimes difficult to know from ancient prophets how to deal with some of today's issues. My family is so dear to me, and knowing I can be with them for eternity gives me great peace.

How I live my faith

I work with Boy Scouts and 14 and 15 year old young men in particular. I oten teach lessons on Sunday but in general I try to advise them as they lead themselves. I remember being in heir shoes and watching others carefully. I try to show my faith through example and sharing my personal experiences of how I've been blessed.

What is being a Mormon like?

Jeff
It's about caring for your family more than other things that can get in the way. It's living a lifestyle that avoids dangerous substances so I can always have a clear mind to make choices I won't regret. Mostly it's having a tremendous gratitude for my Savior. People often ask if I celebrate various mainstream holidays. Of course! I love holidays! What a great time to be with extended family and friends! Show more Show less
