Hi I'm Lynette Cicon

I am number 7 of 7 children. I'm was born in Wyoming. I'm a Southern Girl now.

About Me

I'm a stay at home Mom of 3 beautiful kids and my husband works in commercial real estate. We moved to South Carolina almost 2 years ago, and we love it here. We're beach people and greenery loving people and Utah was not matching up so well for us on those fronts. We miss our friends and family who live so far away now, but we're making new friends every day and pulling together as a family, and learning to be each other's best friends. I studied Graphic Design, so I find outlets for my artsy side in unusual places and love exploring downtown Charleston with the kids, and all it's art and architecture. My husband loves all the history there is to discover here.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, the simple answer to why I'm a Mormon is that I was born into this Gospel, but the real answer is that even so, I had to come to my own testimony of it's truth. I'm a reader and always have been. But The Book of Mormon combined with the Bible brings me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ, than any other book. Going to church each Sunday fills me up in a way that nothing else does. Studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ fascinates and intrigues me. Sharing my beliefs with others makes me happier than almost any other pursuit, outside Motherhood I guess. It's hard not to share what I believe because every challenge, every sorrow, every dilemma I see in the lives of ...well, everyone...has a solution, a peace, or an answer of some sort to be found in the scriptures, and in the study of this Gospel. I can't tell you how often I think, "oh, I just wish I could introduce them to the Gospel."

How I live my faith

I used to work with the little kids at church and loved that role, but they recently asked me to help with this committee that arranges activities for the women at church. They have book clubs, mom's groups, etc., and then monthly activities that create opportunities for the women to get together and hear a spiritual message combined with some kind of learning or wholesome fun. I'm their "poster" and "invitation" girl cuz it's one fun outlet I have for my graphic design skills. I'm a neighborhood captain for a non-profit organization that collects clothing and necessities for children being taken out of their homes by social services. And our family is doing our best to adopt some grandparents at a local senior citizen care facility since our own parents (our kids grandparents) live far far away in the west now.
