Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in Michigan. I serve in the mission office in the Michigan Detroit Mission. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Eric and I have lived in the Metro Detroit area most of my life. In high school I was a runner and really into computers and how they worked. That all changed when I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was called to serve in the England Manchester Mission. I was there for 6 months until circumstances brought me home. I was down in the dumps having no idea what to do with my life (because i was suppose to be gone for another year and a half). Two months passed by and I was offered an opportunity to serve in the Mission Office in the Michigan Detroit Mission. With nothing else planned, I accepted the call as a part-time missionary and what a decision that was! I was able to serve again and what a blessing! The office really made me think of what I will do with my life. Now, I'm leaning toward a business degree and I'm still serving my Heavenly Father at the mission office.

Why I am a Mormon

For me, my personal testimony started when I was eleven. I was attending middle school like every other eleven year old and having a rough time making it through. I wasn't the same as all the other kids. I didn't listen to the same music, watch the same shows, or even speak the same. All because I was Mormon. It was really getting to me. So one night I prayed to Heavenly Father asking Him, or whoever was out there, if He was really there. If he wasn't there, I would leave my ways and follow the crowd. If He was there, I would continue to pray to find what this... being wants of me. I received a simple answer. "Yes, I'm here." And that's where it all started. I continued to pray and learn from my Heavenly Father what His will was for me. And that's what has led me to now serving a mission for Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by providing volunteer service. I serve in the Michigan Detroit Mission office and in a branch (a congregation) downtown. In both callings, I take care of clerking assignments given by the respective presidents. It is a lot of work, but I know it isn't in vain. Heavenly Father is there and He needs every helping hand He can get. I also live my faith by keeping Heavenly Father's commandments. It may sound simple, but it is a real test of my faith in Him. Keeping the commandments also is a way you can know He is there too.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries proselyte out of love for our Heavenly Father and love for others. They have been blessed so much by the knowledge they received by coming to know Jesus Christ. They simply want others to enjoy the same blessing no matter who they are! Show more Show less
