Hi I'm Derek

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Father of four married to an incredible woman I meet in college. I have been working in the financial industry for the past decade of my life. I also spent four years working as an assistant men's basketball coach at the college level. I am a sports junkie and spend most of my free time coaching my boy’s basketball, football, baseball and soccer teams - while trying to get a round or two of golf in. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in business management and went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA). I have incredible friends who continually build me up. I feel blessed every day of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; however, it wasn’t until I left for college that I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the church for myself. It was while living in the beautiful islands of Hawaii that I had the opportunity to hear the words of a latter day prophet speak. I was touched and took it upon myself at that time to search and ponder the scriptures. I am a Mormon because I have followed the guidance written in James chapter one of the bible and prayed to know and understand the truth for myself.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is not an easy task. By committing myself as a member of the Church it is my responsibility to live the teachings of our Savior by following his example. I continually push myself each and every day to live a life my Father In Heaven would be proud of. I feel peace when I live the gospel in my life.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families can be together forever! This is one of the truths I hold closest to my heart. Knowing that I have the opportunity to live with my family in heaven after this life is truly a blessing. I can't imagine a "heaven" being something special or somewhere I would want to be without enjoying it with my family. Show more Show less
