Hi I'm Madison

I'm from California. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in my first semester of college and am studying history education. I want to become a high school history teacher and teach american history. I have always loved America and history. I love politics and watch any election debate I can. I spend a lot of time on the computer looking up crafts and different projects to do. I grew up in Orange County, California. I am the second of six kids. I loved every

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born both of my parents were members of the church. When I was eight I decided to be baptized because I felt it was the right thing to do. I didn't completely understand everything as an eight year old, but I knew enough to know it was right. Throughout my teenage years, I came to know of the truth of the gospel. From reading the Book of Mormon to listening to the living prophet, I have come to know for myself that the church is true. I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I could never live without the joy that the gospel brings to my life. The church helps me know how to live my life so that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again someday. I can't imagine how difficult it would be not to have a prophet or scriptures guiding me in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example to everyone around me. I try to show love to people like our Savior would if he were on the earth. I am blessed to be surrounded by people with good morals, but when I am exposed to people who don't have the same values as me, I keep my standards high and try to show them the joy that comes from living a virtuous life. Every month I am responsible for teaching two other women from my ward, or congregation. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to care for other people, even of my own faith.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Madison
I believe that just as there were prophets alive before Jesus Christ came, there are prophets on earth now. They are called of God to receive revelation for the people of the world. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and was the first prophet of the latter days. I also know that Thomas S. Monson is called of God as the prophet for today. If you are looking to find out if Thomas S. Monson is a prophet, I invite you to listen to one of his addresses given in General Conference and then pray about it. You can also attend General Conference in April or October in Salt Lake City, Utah. I gained my testimony of President Monson at general conference three years ago. When he walked into the room and the congregation stood to sing, " We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet," I was overwhelmed by the spirit and couldn't hold my tears back. I knew without a doubt that that man was called of God. Show more Show less
