Hi I'm Braiden

I'm a roper, I'm a hunter, I'm an Eagle Scout, I'm a snowboarder, and most importantly I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well I grew up in Tremonton Utah. I am 20 years old. I come from a small family. Just me, my mom, dad and one older sister. I love to spend time with them and my friends. My friends and I enjoy just driving around town, watching a movie at somebody's house, or sitting around a campfire on the weekends. I enjoy getting to work on a small family ranch in Grouse Creek Utah (Don't worry if you don't know where that is). My favorite things to do are team rope, calf rope and to go hunting with my dad. I have been traveling to rodeos and roping competively for about 7 years now. My mom would always joke that I spent more time traveling to rodeos with my horse, Hannah, then I did with my girlfriend at the time. I love to compete and to push myself to become better. Not just in the rodeo arena, but in life as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon, because I know this church to be true. I have studied the church and the Book of Mormon and have found out that this is Gods church and the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Everybody hits a point in there life when they need to decide which way to travel. I hit that point in my life when I was about 16. I had a leader who challenged me to read the Book of Mormon and to pray about it to find out if it was true or not. So I did. Now, I did not recieve a miraculous vision of angels or the finger of the Lord pointing to the book. However, as I neared the end of the Book Of Mormon I found a scripure (Moroni 7:16) which basically says anything that invites somebody to do good is of Christ. So I thought of that and pondered on if the Book Of Mormon invited me to do good. Let me tell you it does. Everyday I read it I want to better in my life and be a better example of Jesus Christ. I have read the Book Of Mormon a couple more times since then, and can now honestly say that I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God just as we claim it to be. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God who restored the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth. There have been huge blessings of peace, comfort, and a sense of direction in my life since I learned and acted upon these things.

How I live my faith

Well right now I am actually serving a mission for the church in Great Kentucky Louisville Mission (GKLM). I have been serving for over a year now and am looking forward to having one more year left to serve. It is great serving a mission. Each day I get to get up knowing that I am going to focus all my attention that day to blessing the lives of others. We do that in a variety of ways. We can provide service for those in need, help all people increase there faith in Jesus Christ, and teach others about Christ and his life and teachings and about how he restored the his gospel to the earth through a man named Joseph Smith. IT truly is a great blessing in my life to serve a mission. If you ever want to take a missionary by suprise, go up and talk to them before they talk to you. We love it when people do that. When I was at home I lived my faith by doing my best to follow the commandments. There are many things in the world today that are out there to get us to distance ourselves from God. However I learned that through obedience to the commandments draws me closer to Heavenly Father and brings many blessings into my life. Prayer and scripture study each day helped me as well to have a desire to follow Jesus Crist's path and to live the faith that I knew to be true.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Braiden
The best way to find out if the church is true is to ask Heavenly Father. When you ask Heavenly Father a specific question like is the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints your church he will bless you with a specific answer. Also by continuing to learn about the church, read the Book of Mormon, and to follow the commandments you will open yourself to the guidance of the Holy Ghost to recieve an answer. When you pray to Heavenly Father and you have faith that you will recieve an answer and you have real intent to act upon the answer that he gives you, no matter what the answer may be, you will recieve and come to know these things to be true. Your answer will mostly likely come quietly through your thoughts and feelings. Show more Show less
