Hi I'm Janelle

I lived in Arizona most of my life. I'm a Mom a wife and a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mom to two beautiful girls ages 8 months and 7 years old. I've been married 8 years to a wonderful Husband. My college degree is in dental hygiene, but I no longer practice so that I can be home with my girls. I currently run my own photography business. This allows me to bring in some extra money without having to compromise my time with my children. I absolute love being a mom and never thought I would be like that. I was never one that loved babysitting. I always thought kids were cute, but too much work. After the birth of my first daughter she changed my life and I have not known a deeper love than the love a mom has for her children. I'm so grateful to have a hobby that allows me to bring joy into other peoples lives. Every time I am asked to photograph a family I feel so blessed to do so. I love capturing love and connection that is within a family bond. I see it with my girls daily and see the miracle of families through them and my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and have grown up as a member of the church. I have chosen to stay a member because I know without a doubt that this is the true church. I have experienced true miracles in my life as I have gone through trials. Some trials are much more difficult than others, but my Savior has never left me alone. I have been taught at an early age to have faith and exercise that faith. As I have remembered to do this, i have seen great things. One particular instance of making it through a difficult time is when we were trying to have children. While I was in college for dental hygiene, the school told us from the very beginning not to get married or have children while we were in school due to the high work load and stress, I decided to ignore that and I did both. I was married my second semester and got pregnant my last semester when all the boards were taking place. I'm so glad that we listened to the spirit that told us to have a baby sooner than we had planned. Because unknown to us, that after the birth of our first child, it would take us 6 years to be able to have another child. We went through all of it. We did fertility treatments without success. When I finally got pregnant I miscarried early on in the pregnancy. Finally after 5 years and even going through the entire adoption process, we got pregnant with a beautiful baby boy. We were thrilled, but soon into the pregnancy I developed a blood clot and had one complication after another and ended up on bed-rest for 6 weeks. At the end of 6 weeks we thought that we had overcome the worst and that all would be ok, but this was not to be. I went in for a routine check up and found that our son's heart had stopped beating and that we would not be able to have him in this life. We delivered him still born on January 22nd 2010. Although this has been one of the hardest things I've had to endure it's also been a time when I have felt the closest to my Savior.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in my church. I have the opportunity to work with the children and help them learn about the gospel. They are so bright and carry such a sweet spirit. I feel like they teach me more than I do them. They bring me so much happiness. I pray that I can help them and touch their lives like they do mine
